The BodyViz iPad app serves as an integral element of a comprehensive 3D MRI/CT visualization suite, designed specifically for anatomy education and medical simulation. This application facilitates an interactive experience, allowing users to rotate, pan, and zoom through a patient's virtual anatomy in a fully three-dimensional environment, utilizing the intuitive gestures familiar to iOS users. It supports the creation and adjustment of clipping planes for virtual dissection, enabling the exploration of internal anatomical structures. Furthermore, users can select various tissue densities for inspection—ranging from denser tissues such as bone and muscle to softer tissues like fat and skin. The app also offers a selection of color schemes to enhance visual differentiation of organs and anatomical features. Notably, it allows access to spatially registered annotations generated using the BodyViz desktop application, facilitating the labeling of anatomical data alongside detailed descriptions, web links, and images.

To showcase its functionalities, the app includes access to four anonymized datasets. To unlock the app's full potential and generate additional content, users are encouraged to purchase the BodyViz desktop application and BodyViz Sync service.

The BodyViz desktop application is designed for loading native medical imaging files in DICOM format while enabling interactive volume visualization. It augments this with user-defined content such as customized tissue types and spatial annotations. The BodyViz Sync feature streamlines the process of uploading enhanced content or native DICOM files, thus expanding the applicability of medical imaging data beyond traditional static constraints. This greatly benefits educators, students, residents, and healthcare professionals in their learning and clinical endeavors.
